Talk:Silmido (film)

I can't believe it. I consulted the maps of Microsoft Encarta and the NASA freeware World Wind and cannot find where Silmi Island is. I also googled. There are some guided tours to that island, but so far, none of them provide a map. There are dozens of small nameless islands off the coast of Incheon. I just don't know which one is that island. -- Toytoy 16:56, Jan 9, 2005 (UTC)

This film was categorized in Wikipedia with "Korean War films". While it is a Korean film, and it's about soldiers (although not really about war), it is not a film about the Korean War. Therefore, I've removed that category from the main page.

I think we can safely call it a "Korean War film". The Korean War did not end at 1953. There has ever been a peace treaty and the N and S Koreas are still officially enemies. You can safely call the armed conflicts of the 1970s a part of the Korean War. -- Toytoy 23:32, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
